OUR STORY

The concept of the Women's Auxiliary was introduced in the early years of The Salvation Army, dating back to the late 19th century. The Salvation Army was founded in 1865 by William Booth in London with the mission of helping the poor, destitute, and homeless. As the organization grew, it became clear that there was a need for women to play a more active role in supporting this mission. In response, the Women's Auxiliary was created to mobilize female supporters and volunteers.

The first Women's Auxiliary was established in London in 1883, and it soon became a key feature of the organization's work worldwide. Women in these auxiliaries have historically taken on leadership roles, including fundraising, organizing social services for the less fortunate, and providing direct support to those in need.
